Plenty going on this Summer to keep me in the booth. I’m travelling to the Little Music Company’s studio a lot to record the UK dub for Season 2 of Nick Jnr’s Rubble & Crew. It’s such a privilege to work with Paramount and Nickelodeon on a project like this. Keith Littler, the UK voice producer and director is a an utter star in every sense. The string of UK shows under his belt is impressive, not mention judging the Baftas but, to be honest, it’s not his credits that make him such a lush man to work with. He’s a charisma powerhouse and amazing raconteur. The tales he tells … So, always a pleasure to get to be a cartoon dog and bike shop entrepreneur for him!
Grampa Gravel is one of my favourite voices to do – I end up giving him quite a different delivery to Martin Roach’s excellent performance in the American primary recording. I wonder if my Grampa Gravel is a bit more excitable. As for Shopkeeper Shelley, a chance to go big and a bit camp in my expression is ace.
Across the pond, Forteller Games have been pioneering some cool new tech to bring narrative immersion to table-top gaming of every type you can imagine. There’s a lot going on with the new app development that I can’t pretend to understand but I have enough contact with them to be able to see how much is being invested in the project. For my part I’ve just finished a few auditions, some for projects up and running, and others for exciting new things still in development (hush!)
