I’ve been back in the studio for Nick Jnr and Paramount recording the UK dub of Rubble & Crew which is always fun! I’ve also done some English language live action dubbing with Andy Turvey. It’s pretty cool lip syncing to a foreign language actor and I’ve really enjoyed it. Best of all is getting to work with Andy. He’s a big deal in voice overs and dubs, especially in UK kids TV. Although I have to say, personally I’m very pleased to work with the man who was the voice of the Tesco self-scan checkouts for many years! Now that’s an impressive audience!
I’ve been involved in some voice actor workshops with Forteller Games which are really useful if you’re looking to improve. We’ve done some cold script reads and it’s great to see actors bounce off each other and test out different styles and approaches. Nate at Forteller is a great guy and offers some essential tips for submitting audition files from what he looks for as a casting director; how to format auditions, how many takes to include and raising your profile in the voice acting community. Definitely worth checking out! We ran it on Discord and ended up hanging out for a while afterwards talking shop. There’s another workshop coming up in March so get involved!
I’ve worked with Forteller a lot and I’ve only got good things to say about the company.
